Drug & Alcohol Treatment
The First Step…. is often the hardest, but we welcome the opportunity to assist you in your decision to change your life!
We begin with an evaluation to determine the most appropriate level of care for your needs, based on ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) placement criteria. We thoroughly review your history of addictive behavior and complete a psychosocial assessment, inviting your family members for support if you choose to include them, as well as determining any need for detoxification or inpatient treatment prior to receiving counseling at Allied Counseling Group. If you are appropriate for our outpatient program, you may begin group and/or individual therapy that day. Within the next week, you will meet with your therapist to design an individualized treatment plan that outlines all of the goals that you want to achieve and the resources to meet those goals.
We also suggest our transitional living program, The Annex at Allied Counseling Group, if you want and need independent living that offers 3 to 6 months of structured, drug- and alcohol-free housing that is supervised 24 hours a day but allows you all of the benefits of continuing to work, to visit with family members, to enjoy leisure time and to optimize the benefits of your recovery efforts until you are ready to go home again.
Our Key Employee Program is a 30-day program that businesses appreciate for the flexibility that our transitional living program provides. Key employees often cannot afford to miss 2 to 4 weeks from work to participate in traditional in-patient rehabilitation and treatment programs. The Key Employee Program incorporates management and employee collaboration with clinical staff to design a program that allows the employee to focus on recovery and return gradually to work duties while participating in the program, with only one week of work leave required to orient and immerse the employee in recovery planning and strategies.
To get an appointment for an initial evaluation, please come to the Frederick office at 306 West Patrick Street to get your enrollment and evaluation packet and to pre-pay the initial evaluation fee or, if using insurance, the initial deposit to hold your first appointment. In order to facilitate and guarantee that your first session is prompt and focused on your needs, initial evaluation appointments cannot be scheduled until you receive instructions on completing the evaluation packet and make the pre-paid deposit to hold your initial appointment. You may download the admission paperwork to bring to the office when you pick up your evaluation packet, or you may opt to fill out the admission paperwork at the Frederick office. Friends and family members are welcome to attend your initial session with you; however, your personal attention to completing the evaluation packet is essential to understanding your experience and history. If you require assistance completing any part of the evaluation packet, please ask our office staff to help you.
If you are seeking admission to continuing care from an in-patient program, or admission to The Annex at Allied Counseling Group for transitional living or the Key Employee Program, please request that a referral contact be made through your case manager, Human Resources manager, or employer.
We regret that if you do not bring the completed evaluation packet to your first appointment, or if you are 15 or more minutes late to your appointment, or if you cancel or do not show on the day of your appointment or cancel less than 24 hours in advance, your initial deposit will be forfeited.
We cannot complete an evaluation over the telephone. However, an initial consultation of up to 15 minutes with the Clinical Director is available at no charge by contacting the office manager to schedule this call.
A release of information for any referral source or supervising agency and for your emergency contact person must be signed on the day you arrive for your first appointment or when you come in to pre-pay for your appointment and pick up your evaluation paperwork. Staff will call your referral source when you've made your initial appointment to verify your first appointment upon request.
If you have been in treatment at another facility within the past year, we require a discharge summary from that facility with an appropriate release signed by you for requesting that information. Please be advised that most facilities will not forward that information to us if you owe any balance on your account at that facility.
Adolescent services are also available; however, requests for drug testing of adolescents requires pre-enrollment and pre-paid evaluation deposit, and family therapy sessions are part of the adolescent's treatment plan. Adolescents are also required to sign releases to communicate treatment status with parent (s).
